A Life Giving Moment:  Beyond Goals Different Year-Different Choices Series Pt. 4

To ensure that you avoid extensive ruts on your journey, focus on establishing lifelong commitments to your health and overall development. Goal oriented motivation is only viable until the goal is reached or the idea is capable of living beyond you. Goal oriented motivation is necessary for completing tasks but proves futile when one hopes to enjoy a fulfilling life. Individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated about life are generally invested in more than just their immediate future.

For example, being motivated to complete a written assignment is temporary. Once the assignment is completed and turned in, your focus shifts to the next item on your agenda. Motivation to lose a certain number of pounds is not sufficient for a healthy lifestyle without a commitment to overall nutritional and activity changes. Likewise, being committed to writing an assignment is the starting point of a potential larger motivation to become a great writer. The latter requires long term planning and greater levels of self-motivation.

Investigate your goals and sit with long term requisites needed to accomplish your goals and to sustain your growth.

Sojourner, you have many unlived days ahead and you must choose to fill them with intentional goodness and self-motivation!
